Our Story

In 1992, as a young boy, Spotless founder and president, Sidik Nuhanovic and his parents were forced to leave their home in Bosnia, narrowly escaping the ethnic cleansing that was rapidly closing in around them. Literally escaping out the back door when the soldiers were seen coming over the hill toward their home. After seeking refuge in a Hungarian refugee compound for several months the family was finally able to migrate on to Germany where Sidik would spend his teenage years and later attend college in Berlin.

In 1999 along with his parents, Sidik immigrated to the United State and settled in the St. Louis area. Shortly after moving to the area, Sidik started working for one of the large local cleaning companies as a supervisor. His strong work ethic, honesty, integrity, and keen attention to detail caused him to quickly be recognized and promoted to the position of area manager. It was during this time that he learned the cleaning industry and how to effectively manage a professional team. Ultimately, he was responsible for over two million square foot of commercial cleaning and over 350 employees. He came realized that the company he had seen ran well had over time began lose the focus on the customer and turn away from the quality and attention to details that he enjoyed. It became more and more obvious that the focus had shifted toward cutting corners in quality and service levels in order to bolster profit margins.

In 2005 Sidik realized that there were many things that could be improved by having a more customer centered approach and less focus on growing a large company and ever increasing profit margins. It was the same work ethic, honesty, integrity, and attention to detail that prompted him to finally resign his position with his employer and start Spotless Building Services. By focusing heavily on the customer’s needs and operating his business with the highest levels of honesty, integrity, and industry leading quality, Spotless Building Services grew exponentially over the next few years.

In 2014, we continue to be a rapidly growing company. We believe it is solely because of the solid foundation that has been built on our guiding principles of honesty, integrity, and consistent industry leading quality over the past seven plus years. We believe that it is these traits, combined with our continual focus on our customers and their needs that has allowed us to grow into the company we are today.
